Phaidon.com has launched the latest book about idea behind images of Steve McCurry “Untold: The Stories behind the photography”.¦
Phaidon presented one of Steve McCurry’s interviews with the American Photo web site. He gave interesting opinions about how documentary photography recently is. He said that nowadays everywhere in the world look similar and the aesthetic of differences is less and less. This incident occurs together with less cost and more convenient of traveling. Unlike early stage of document photography when only few photographer could access to the location.
However, Steve saw this as a challenge of photography. In order to get better story photographer need to dig deeper into the story. Curiosity and observation which is the basic since Henri Cartier-Bresson and Dorothy Lange era will become what photographer need to concern more.
