Bob Smethurst a former dustman became the life-saver of more than 5,000 images which he had found in landfill, include postcard notebook bullet in handkerchief during the WWI.¦

He firstly found images and related stuffs since 1970s. Each of images contains its own story. Some are even record of important event. He spend 30 years collect those images.

All images and stuffs came from several places. The former dustman said that during 1970s when he found these photos, people in the image might get too old or already passed away. He doesn’t want to give all collection to the government or public museum because it might be kept and never be seen again. He want keep them in order to present these images to the next generation.

The collector has already evaluated the price of all images and related stuffs. They could be worth thousands pounds all together. But Bob Smethurst said that the value for him was in saving something so important which could otherwise have never been seen again.
