“Werng (เวิ้ง) - Before Gone” was taken in 2014 as part of a documentary series about the lives and struggles of the people living in “Werng Nakhon Kasem”, a historic community in Bangkok, during the last 5 months before they had to leave their homes because of a recent development plan by a new investor. Despite their strong bond, this community cannot save their cherished haven, a home that has nurtured generations. Their generations-long legacy has sadly come to an end.

Once people moved out, the venue become abandoned and used as a car park for several years. Since the venue was full of old buildings, many film productions used this area as a film shooting location. In 2023, the owner announced that they were going to change the venue into a mixed-use area, lifestyle boutique hotel and underground commercial district that would be the new landmark of Bangkok.

สารคดีภาพถ่ายเรื่องนี้บันทึกเมื่อปี พ.ศ.2557 เพื่อบอกเล่าเรื่องราวชีวิตของผู้คนที่อยู่อาศัยในชุมชนเวิ้งนครเกษมซึ่งเป็นชุมชนเก่าแก่ในกรุงเทพฯ ตลอดช่วง 5 เดือนสุดท้ายก่อนที่พวกเขาจะต้องย้ายออกเนื่องจากแผนพัฒนาโครงการใหม่ของนักลงทุนที่เข้าถือครองพื้นที่ แม้ชุมชนจะมีความผูกพันแน่นแฟ้น แต่ทว่าก็ไม่อาจรักษาสถานที่อันเป็นที่รัก ไม่อาจรักษาบ้านที่อุ้มชูดุแลพวกเขามาหลายชั่วอายุคน มรดกวิถีชีวิตที่ตกทอดกันมาหลายรุ่นก็ได้จบลงอย่างน่าเสียดาย

เวิ้งนครเกษมแห่งนี้ก็ถูกทิ้งร้างและกลายเป็นลานจอดรถหลายปีหลังจากผู้คนย้ายออกไป หลังจากนั้นผู้สร้างภาพยนตร์หลายค่ายเลือกใช้พื้นที่แห่งนี้เป็นสถานที่ถ่ายทำภาพยนตร์ ต่อมาในปี 2023 เจ้าของสถานที่ได้ประกาศแผนการใช้พื้นที่เพื่อสร้างโครงการแบบผสมผสาน ซึ่งจะมีทั้งโรงแรมบูติกไลฟ์สไตล์และย่านธุรกิจใต้ดินที่จะกลายเป็นแลนด์มาร์คแห่งใหม่ของกรุงเทพฯ
