Robert Capa is one of the most famous black and white photographers who captured many stunning images, especially during the WWII. However, only few people know that Capa also taking image in color as well. Recently, ICP (The International Center of Photography) present the unseen and unpublished color photo exhibition of Capa for the first time.¦

ICP set a new show of more than 125 images of Robert Capa. Every image is all in color and never published before. The curator Cynthia Young has selected images from 4,000 color works which comes in different formats, for instance, 35 mm, square format or even 4x5 film sheet. She told TIME that Capa always picked 2 or 3 cameras with him in order to shoot in different format. During 30s-50s he captured various topics from war, fashion to portrait. He also shoot in both black and white and color because he knew that magazine were willing to pay more for color images.

From Capa’s unpublished color images in this exhibition, Young expected that these images should emphasize people to interest more about early color photography again.

In 2004, Magnum published the book of Capa’s color work and used the same name as ICP exhibition. The book present unique and interesting works of Capa, for example, traveling with ship convoy steaming across the Atlantic early in WWII. He also captured the image of home of Ernest Hemingway - author and journalist as well as Pablo Picasso - famous painter, with his family.
